The company got its start in 1984, when David Aubin and a small group of technical experts from South Central Bell were downsized following the large conglomerate’s divestiture. Aubin and his team decided the main focus of their new business would be to tend to local consumers who’d gotten lost in the shuffle, and who were looking for a Baton Rouge-based communications company that could respond to their individual needs quickly and efficiently. The company now provides telephone system sales, service and installation, computer networking, and commercial wiring to small, medium, and large businesses. BRG Phones Plus is an authorized dealer of NEC, a market leader that provides a variety of communications platforms to suit clients.

Where it started

From the start, Aubin and his team knew that great customer service would help BRG Phones Plus stand out in an industry that was undergoing a shift away from individualized client care. Staying focused on clients and combining high tech with high touch is the winning combination for BRG Phones Plus, leaving them feeling honest at the end of the day, knowing they had done their best to take care of the businesses who put their trust in BRG. "We have integrity and our clients trust us,” Aubin says. “It didn’t take long to start increasing our business.” Looking back, Aubin and his wife, Suzanne, who joined BRG Phones in 1997 to head up the company’s sales division following a successful career at LSU as assistant to the dean of College of Basic Sciences, says that they owe everything they are today to their customers. “That’s really the reason why we’re in business after 26 years,” says Suzanne Aubin. Combining old-fashioned, hands-on service with 21st century technology has paid off for BRG Phones Plus. We focus on long term relationships with clients over short-term revenue spikes.
